AoB Cir/02 2023

Dear Priests, Deacons, Religious and Laity of the Archdiocese of Bulawayo,

HAPPY EASTER.
MAY THE RISEN CHRIST BE OUR SOLE HOPE.

First of all I wish each of you many blessings of the Risen Lord. May He guide and strengthen us as a synodal family of faith.

1. Pastoral Elections:

I congratulate all the new leaders of parishes and associations who were just elected in for the coming two years. As leaders it is our duty to be responsible in all that we do with transparency and honesty. Each leader should always keep in mind that we are leading the people of God, journeying together towards our home in heaven. Therefore mutual respect is of utmost importance.

When it comes to financial transparency there shall not be any excuse. All treasurers and chairpersons should make sure that all finances are accounted for correctly. The funds we use belong to each and every member of the parish and associations.

Elections for the associations at Archdiocese level will be held in the month of April.

2. Appointments:

2.1. Fr. Elias Musona OFM Cap is appointed assistant priest at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Entumbane.

2.2. Fr. Elvis Gwangwava OFM Cap is appointed priest in charge of St. Padre Pio, Emakhandeni.

2.3. Fr. Nkululeko Ndlovu CMM is appointed assistant priest at Our Lady of Assumption, Gwanda.

3. Obligatory Collections:

During Lent this year we have three obligatory collections which is to be done in all parishes and missions towards the solidarity of the whole Church. These are Lenten Campaign for the poor, Holy Thursday special collection for the people of Malawi affected by Cyclone Freddy and Good Friday collection for the preservation of the Holy Land. Kindly make sure that all these collections are submitted to the Financial Administrator of the Archdiocese before the end of April.

"May we be won over by the peace of Christ! Peace is possible; peace is a duty; peace is everyone's primary responsibility!"
